Quando i giapponesi riparano un oggetto rotto, valorizzano la crepa riempiendo la spaccatura con dell’oro. Essi credono che quando qualcosa ha subito una ferita ed ha una storia, diventa più bello. Questa tecnica è chiamata "Kintsugi" (金継ぎ), o "Kintsukuroi" (金繕い), letteralmente significa "riparare con l'oro".

Venerdì scorso ho visitato una bella mostra qua a Pisa presso il Palazzo Blu: "Storie dall'altro mondo; l'universo dentro e fuori di noi". La mostra racconta come l'Uomo, spinto dalla propria naturale curiosità, abbia progressivamente imparato ad avvicinarsi all'Universo esplorandolo attraverso strumenti sempre più precisi e complessi. La mostra è idealmente divisa in quattro parti: nella prima area i visitatori possono compiere una passeggiata attraverso il Sistema Solare, la Via Lattea ed infine nelle enormi distanze che separano le galassie. Nella seconda parte il visitatore può assistere alla nascita di una stella e scoprire con grande meraviglia che tutto il materiale dei vari elementi chimici che compongono il nostro corpo è lo stesso che si è formato nelle stelle. Per questo possiamo dire che noi esseri umani non siamo altro che "polvere di stelle" o "figli delle stelle". Una bellissima definizione, vero?

Last Friday I visited an exhibition at the "Blu Palace" in Pisa: "Stories from the other world, the universe inside and outside of us." The exhibition tells how the man, driven from their natural curiosity, has gradually learned to approach the universe expoloring it through an ever more precise and complex instrumentations. The exhibition is ideally divided into four parts: in the first area visitors can take a walk through the Solar System, the Milky Way and finally in the enormous distances that separate galaxies. In the second part, visitors can witness the birth of a star and discover with amazement that the materials of various chemical elements that compose our bodies are the same that formed in stars. We can say that we humans are just "stardust" or "children of the stars." A beautiful definition, isn't it?
