Quando i giapponesi riparano un oggetto rotto, valorizzano la crepa riempiendo la spaccatura con dell’oro. Essi credono che quando qualcosa ha subito una ferita ed ha una storia, diventa più bello. Questa tecnica è chiamata "Kintsugi" (金継ぎ), o "Kintsukuroi" (金繕い), letteralmente significa "riparare con l'oro".
When the Japanese mend a broken item, they enhance the crack by filling the gap with gold. They believe that when something has suffered an injury and has a history it becomes more beautiful. This technique is called "Kintsugi" (金 継ぎ), or "Kintsukuroi" (金 繕い), literally means "repair with gold."
