"... each village has a different costume reminiscent of the many peoples who have passed the island, Greek elegance to the Spanish gravity. The Queen Maria Theresa of Austria, wife of Vittorio Emanuele I ... when she visited Cabras was enchanted from the eyes, the skin, the stature and the aspect of the young women, who in her opinion could rival the same Georgian, and as a reward she gave a kiss in front of the best one.

And after last year's break, on Sunday I attended again to the Cavalcata 2016, the beautiful folk event that every month of May staged the traditional costumes and the most beautiful masks of Sardinia. After devoting an article with a long series of photos two years ago, I come to speak of this event with some pictures I took under the scorching sun during the last Sunday. In the opening photos, you can admire the fascinating widows of Cabras. And here's a roundup of new photographs.

Sa Filonzana (the spinner), the one who weaves the thread of our destiny. Dressed in black, humped and with a black mask, this mask holds in her hands our destiny, represented by a thin thread that can break any moment.

La maschera tradizionale di Fonni. S'Urtu, rappresenta l'animale.

And finally, her, she is the most beautiful example of total love for the island and her traditions. The limits do not exist. Normality is composed of a set of differences and special characters and I find amazing the possibility of expression and participation in the celebration, in a different but equally unique way, by any human being.
