La prima tappa è stata l' Abbazia di San Galgano a 30 Km da Siena. Qua sorge inoltre la Cappella di Montesiepi, famosa per la spada nella roccia conficcata nel suo pavimento da San Galgano nel 1180. (miracolo per cui fu nominato santo).
